The game was reduced to 35 overs a side after heavy rain meant play could not get underway until 3.20. Norden won the toss and put Booth into bat. Mohammed Jamil and Gulbaz got Booth off to a good start, adding over 70 for the first wicket, and Hasnain Wajid accelerated the score with a quick innings of 24 including 2 fours and 2 sixes.
Mohammed Jamil batted through the innings to finish with a magnificent 94 not out, but the rest of the batting faded away, eventually leaving Booth 3 runs short of obtaining maximum batting points on 197-7.
Norden got off to a quick start with an opening partnership of 65 in the first 10 overs, before Josh Oliver achieved a breakthrough. The game turned in Booth's favour once 12 year old Sebastian Holmes came on to bowl his left arm wrist spin for the first time in adult cricket. He took a wicket with his first ball, his first over was a double wicket maiden, and he ended with 4-36 from his ten overs and tied down all of the Norden batsmen. Accurate bowling from Hasnain Wajid and Gavin O'Brien at the other end left Norden 14 runs short and Booth frustratingly 1 wicket short of obtaining the full 20 points.
Booth 15 points
Norden 8 points
